And Here’s a Little More About Me…
Let me state the obvious...I am an artist. I like to paint. And since I have a blog, apparently I like to talk about my paintings. I did have my bio pasted here, which you can always read on my website, but I felt I needed to spruce things up a bit on my blog, which has a more casual feel. We're like family, right? So, let's see... I live in Lafayette, LA. I grew up in Slidell, which is right outside of New Orleans, well, outside if you forget there's a lake between the two. I wanted to be a cowgirl when I grew up because I liked horses and just wanted to ride horses all day. (I had no idea what was really involved in cowgirl duties.) By the time I was 8 years old, I knew I wanted to be an artist. So my plan was to get good grades (check) and get into a good college (check). I received my BA in Visual Art from Loyola University New Orleans in '98. (Though many people assume I'm still in college or fresh out of high school.... that's what I get for not sunbathing.) I moved to Lafayette after college and became a part of the art community here. (It's a very welcoming and supportive group- not cut-throat like some...) After years in the commercial art realm, I decided I could either dance around my true passion for the rest of my life, or I could make a career of it. So I went with the latter. I devised a plan, stuck to it, read a little Dr. Phil and a LOT of business books, and slowly worked my way up the ladder. And still am. And now I write about my "adventures" as I go. So thanks for following along!

I love your work it’s so amazing! Your so pretty!! I stumbled upon it when I was searching for images of work in the LaGrange art exhibition. I have a ring in that exhibition titled “Orange Ring.” I go to Central Washington University and my focus is Jewelry. I’ve taken painting classes with Margo Selski who also does surreal work. I am taking painting right now and am terrible at it~!!

Hi Kathryn, Thanks so much for your kind email. Congrats on getting into the LaGrange exhibit! I wish that I could have been at the opening, but I’m busy preparing for a show next week. I checked out your professor’s work- I love it! What a great teacher!
