Excited to finally reveal my finished painting, Transcendental.  This piece was specifically created for a new exhibit at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco called “Familiar: The Spirit Animal in Contemporary Art.”  Transcendental is an acrylic on canvas, 6″ x 6,” and features the “butterfly eyes” in keeping with some of my other paintings as of late.  “Familiar” opens tonight, November 3rd with a gallery reception from 6-9pm and will remain up through December 1st, 2017.

Just finished this small painting from my In Our Veins series.  Cohaereo, which is Latin for connected, is an acrylic on canvas, 4″ by 4.”  The rabbit wears a collar of roses atop an exposed heart.  The heart on the outside of the body serves as a reminder of our shared biology with all of life.  The butterflies are a metaphor for life in that both are beautiful, fragile, and ephemeral.  You can view the painting online here: https://amyguidry.com/Cohaereo.html.

Working on a few paintings at the moment- this small painting is currently in progress.  I’ll be revealing the finished piece in my upcoming newsletter next week. (Sign up here for the first look at the finished painting.)  This tiny bunny wears a collar of roses atop a giant heart.  The butterflies represent life- both are beautiful, fragile, and ephemeral.  It is an acrylic on canvas, 4″ wide by 4″ high.

Room of a Thousand Doors

I’m excited to announce that I’ve been invited to participate in the upcoming “Room of a Thousand Doors” exhibit being held by Wow X Wow.  I’ve been working on a new painting for this show, taking it in a slightly different direction (inspired by the theme of many paths to take).  The intense, dark leafy background is a new approach for me.  This is a progress shot of my painting- I’ll be revealing more over the next couple of weeks.  It’s an acrylic on canvas, 6″ x .6″  The exhibit will be held online via Wow X Wow, opening September 1st 7pm BST.

Revealing my two paintings for the upcoming Coaster Show 2017 at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, California.  The coyote piece is titled Vitae, which is Latin for life.  It is an acrylic on cardstock, 4″ tondo.  The skull painting is titled Elucido, which is Latin for enlighten.  It is also an acrylic on cardstock, 4″ tondo.  Both will be on display as part of the exhibition opening September 1st (gallery reception that evening from 8-11pm).  The exhibit runs September 1st through October 1st, 2017.  Check out the online preview here: http://laluzdejesus.com/the-5th-annual-coaster-show-harold-fox/#more-21998.
