A few of my small paintings in the In Our Veins series have recently found new homes in Louisiana and New York. A couple of them were just featured in my newsletter upon finishing. Circular and Vision are both acrylic on canvas, 4″ x 4″ and Conserve is also an acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 4″ high.

I’ve recently finished some new work in my In Our Veins series. Dissociate is an acrylic on canvas, 12″ wide by 6″ high. Lately I’ve been exploring the “opposite” of many paintings in this series. Whereas in previous paintings, I relied on eyes and facial expressions to convey a sense of connection, these recent works show animals without faces or covered faces. Anonymity vs. connection- without seeing their faces, does that make them any less personable? Meaningful? And how does this apply on a global scale? These are some of the questions I’m working on with these and future paintings.

The Coaster Show, which I am participating in, officially opens tonight at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles. Yay! I was recently invited to create coasters for the upcoming “Coaster Show” at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, California. The coasters I painted are in keeping with my In Our Veins series and are now online. The titles are Pathway and Reflection, both are acrylic on cardstock, 4″ tondo, and $100 each. I’ve (finally!) finished my latest painting in the In Our Veins series. The painting is titled Integral and is 20″ wide by 10″ high, acrylic on canvas. Integral explores the sometimes forgotten nature that we live in. The horses, though faceless, are still personable, a reminder of their importance. I’ve made a lot of progress on my latest painting in the In Our Veins series. You may recall seeing the very early stages of this painting from a previous post. The horses are now finished and I am currently building the layers of the landscape, adding fine detail work along the way. The size is 20″ wide by 10″ high, acrylic on canvas.
