I’m happy to reveal my new painting Regrowth, created specifically for Modern Eden Gallery’s Night Garden exhibition. The exhibit explores nature and earth magic, flora and fauna, death and wilderness. The human eyes within the leaves refer to our connection to all of nature. Regrowth is an acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 6″ high. The exhibit is up now through January 4, 2019. You can view the painting online here as well as my available work at Modern Eden: https://www.moderneden.com/collections/vendors?q=Amy%20Guidry.
Another sneak preview close-up of my latest painting. The title is Regrowth and the total size is 6? wide by 6? high. Making a lot of progress on my current painting for Cactus Gallery’s upcoming show. I was invited to create a piece for “The Revival,” an exhibition exploring life, death, rebirth and growth represented with natural imagery. I’m currently working on the little leaves in this piece. Will post the finished painting soon. If you’d like to be updated when it is finished, sign up for my newsletter here: https://amyguidry.com/contact.html. “The Revival” opens September 8th at Cactus Gallery in Los Angeles.
I’m taking a break from my rainforest painting and currently working on another new painting for the upcoming “The Revival” exhibition at Cactus Gallery in Los Angeles. This show explores life, death, rebirth and growth represented with natural imagery. This is a close-up of the cheetah’s face and hair which I am currently “building” (seems like the best way to phrase it given the multiple layers of paint leading up to more and more refined line work). This piece is an acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 6″ high. The exhibit will open September 8th at Cactus Gallery.
In anticipation of the exhibition I have coming up, I’m sharing my finished painting, Transformation. This piece was created for Wow X Wow’s second online exhibition, “Room of a Thousand Doors.” It’s an acrylic on canvas, 6″ by 6.” The exhibition opens this Friday, September 1st, 7PM BST through September 22, 2017. In the meantime, view the painting online here: https://amyguidry.com/transformation.html. Email sales(at)wowxwow(dot)com with any inquiries.
I’m excited to announce that I’ve been invited to participate in the upcoming “Room of a Thousand Doors” exhibit being held by Wow X Wow. I’ve been working on a new painting for this show, taking it in a slightly different direction (inspired by the theme of many paths to take). The intense, dark leafy background is a new approach for me. This is a progress shot of my painting- I’ll be revealing more over the next couple of weeks. It’s an acrylic on canvas, 6″ x .6″ The exhibit will be held online via Wow X Wow, opening September 1st 7pm BST.
I’m happy to announce that my painting, Preservation, is on the cover of the new EP by the band, Levees. The EP, Another Medicine, is out as of today. And if you are in New Orleans, be sure to check out Preservation in person while it is currently at LeMieux Galleries.
In the midst of some other projects I have going on, I managed to finish a couple of small paintings in my In Our Veins series. These are part of a sub-series of 4″ x 4″ paintings. Revival and Emergence are both acrylic on canvas, 4″ by 4.” View these and two other available small paintings here:
My most recent painting is now online. The title is Preservation and it is an acrylic on canvas, 8″ wide by 10″ high. The deer and leaves illustrate the connection between animals and forests, and the need to protect nature as a whole. It is the latest addition to my In Our Veins series, and can be viewed online here: http://amyguidry.com/preservation.html.
