Making some strides on a new small painting. This will be the latest painting in my In Our Veins series. Currently working on the details to the owl, and already roughed in the first layer of paint. It is an acrylic on canvas, 4″ wide by 4″ high. The finished piece will be revealed soon! If you would like to be notified when it is available, sign up for my newsletter here: https://amyguidry.com/contact.html.
I’ve recently finished a couple of new paintings in my In Our Veins series. The first you may recall from the progress photos I posted here. The title is Sustain and it is an acrylic on canvas, 12″ x 12.” The next painting is another addition to the smaller $100 works at 4″ x 4″ and is called Support. View the paintings online here http://amyguidry.com/sustain.html and here http://amyguidry.com/support.html.
A few of my small paintings in the In Our Veins series have recently found new homes in Louisiana and New York. A couple of them were just featured in my newsletter upon finishing. Circular and Vision are both acrylic on canvas, 4″ x 4″ and Conserve is also an acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 4″ high.

I’ve just added two new paintings to my In Our Veins series. The first is Synthesis, an acrylic on canvas, 4″ x 4.” The next painting is Division, also an acrylic on canvas, 4″ x 4.” Synthesis has just sold and currently on its way to its new home but Division is currently available. I have more new paintings to feature as well, including the piece I posted in progress earlier in the month, so be on the lookout. In the meantime, I have the current new work posted on my Facebook Fan Page which you can view here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Amy-Guidry/51953219932?sk=photos_stream.
It’s been an insanely busy week, hence my lack of posting sooner. The good news is I will be revealing a new painting I’ve been slaving over for quite some time, so be on the lookout for it. I also have an upcoming show which is just a couple of weeks away. I will be in a 3-person exhibit at Barrister’s Gallery in New Orleans next month with Nikki Crook and Monique Ligons. I’ll be showing works from my In Our Veins series, my most recent body of work. This should be a really fun show and opening night will also be held in conjunction with the SCAD Artwalk, May 12th from 6-9pm. For those of you that would like to get a sneak preview, you can check it out here: www.barristersgallery.com/upcoming.html.
One of my more recent paintings has found a new home in time for Valentine’s Day. Interdependent is one of the small works from my In Our Veins series and is an acrylic on canvas, 4″ x 4″ square. This series deals with the life cycle and the impact that each species has on one another, which is represented in Interdependent. The roots of the tree have a vaguely similar texture and color as the deer antlers, so I took liberty in morphing them together to illustrate the connection of all life forms. The butterflies, as seen in several paintings in this series, are a metaphor for life and our mortality. They are beautiful, delicate, and fragile, and here for a short time, reminding us that life is precious.
