Sharing my latest finished painting Fragile. It should be noted that artistic liberties were taken with this piece as (aside from the obvious abdomen) this spider doesn’t actually exist. I came up with her after looking at several references. The decorative porcelain abdomen serves to highlight the beauty and fragility of these small creatures which have an important role in our ecosystem. Progress photo of a new painting in the works. Sometimes I take artistic license with my subjects if they don’t quite fit what I had in mind.
